- દ્વિઘાત બહુપદી: ax2 + bx + c = 0 માટે α + β = -b/a અને α · β = c/a
- ત્રિઘાત બહુપદી: ax3 + bx2 + cx + d = 0 માટે α + β + γ = -b/a અને α · β · γ = -d/a
- શૂન્યોની સંખ્યા: આલેખ x અક્ષને જેટલા બિંદુમાં છેદે તેટલા શૂન્યો કહેવાય.

- દ્વિચલ સુરેખ સમીકરણનું પ્રમાણિત સ્વરૂપ: ax + by + c = 0 છે.
- અનન્ય ઉકેલ: a1b2 - a2b1 ≠ 0 એટલે કે a1/a2 ≠ b1/b2 હોય તો ઉકેલ અનન્ય ઉકેલ મળે.
- ઉકેલ ન મળે: a1b2 - a2b1 = 0, b1c2 - b2c1 ≠ 0 અને a1c2 - a2c1 ≠ 0 એટલે કે a1/a2 = b1/b2 ≠ c1/c2 હોય તો ઉકેલ ન મળે.
- ઉકેલ અનંત મળે: a1b2 - a2b1 = 0, b1c2 - b2c1 = 0 અને a1c2 - a2c1 = 0 એટલે કે a1/a2 = b1/b2 = c1/c2 હોય તો ઉકેલ અનંત મળે.
- આલેખ: સુરેખ સમીકરણનો આલેખ રેખા મળે.

- દ્વિઘાત સમીકરણનું પ્રમણિત સ્વરૂપ: ax2 + bx + c = 0 છે.
- વિવેચક: D = b2 - 4ac
- જો D = 0 તો સમીકરણને સમાન ઉકેલ મળે.
- જો D > 0 તો સમીકરણને બે ભિન્ન વાસ્તવિક બીજ (ઉકેલ) મળે.
- જો D < 0 તો સમીકરણને ઉકેલ ન મળે.
- બીજ શોધવાના સૂત્રો: α = (-b + √D)/2a અને β = (-b - √D)/2a
- બે બીજ આપેલા હોય તો દ્વિઘાત સમીકરણ x2 - (α+β)x + αβ = 0 બને.
- Golden Number (સુવર્ણ સંખ્યા): = (1 + √5)/2 છે.
